4G Broadband Grant Scheme

Digital Cheshire is a public sector partnership setup by Cheshire East, Cheshire West, Warrington & Halton Council.
Our aim is to support local residents improve poor broadband connectivity, ideally with full fibre broadband, but where that is not currently possible and where fibre may be some time off – we wish to support interim solutions to give people the level of access they need.
Therefore, we have entered into an agreement with National Broadband Limited (NBL) who is a commercial provider we have selected as providing a quality 4G mobile data broadband solution that can operate with any of the major mobile networks in order to provide the best access to data. Their solution also makes use of an external antenna that means the system can still work effectively in areas with less than ideal signal coverage.
Under our agreement the partnership will fund the required equipment, installation and setup – you would be responsible for covering the monthly service costs (min 1 year contract), these costs are competitive with similar providers. Also we will pay the installation cost directly to NBL so there is no need for residents to go through any complex claims process.
Digital Cheshire does not receive any referral fees or payments in return from NBL, our aim is to provide residents, for whom this solution may be appropriate, with the lowest cost and required quality service and equipment from a reputable supplier. If you keep the service for at least a year Digital Cheshire (or NBL) will not require the return of any equipment, of course if you wish to renew the service with NBL you are free to do so.
The solution may not be suitable for all localities, if after survey it is found not suitable, or likely speeds would be lower than expected, there is no obligation to proceed or take up the service and we will cover the survey fees. Speeds can vary greatly by location, we would expect download speeds to range between 30 – 100mbs, upload speeds would be slower.
