Investment into the roll out of ultrafast broadband in Cheshire
Building on the current and historic fibre broadband roll-out’s delivered by commercial providers and the Connecting Cheshire partnership, Digital Cheshire and their contracted partner Airband are delivering an ultrafast roll-out.
This will focus on the isolated and rural areas in Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester to bring gigabit-capable broadband.
With the support of the remaining European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and BDUK Government funding, the project started in Spring 2021 and is expected to complete deployment by 2025.
For businesses locally, high speed broadband is essential to the operations, from increasing productivity, enabling cloud computing and more growth opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs whilst connecting online with customers and suppliers all over the world.
Where businesses and residents can’t currently access a fibre-based solution, we can also work with you to explore alternative schemes such as vouchers.

Get a Voucher
We work with communities across Cheshire, Halton and Warrington to utilise the Governments Gigabit Voucher Scheme which enables communities to seek a connection. Since it’s launch Digital Cheshire can also provide top-up funding to enable more community-led schemes to become affordable.
