BT Truck will visit Cheshire, Warrington and Halton, this Summer, to discuss the Landline Switchover and Digital Voice.

BT are visiting Cheshire, Warrington, and Halton, to provide support and information for residents about the upcoming Landline Switchover. BT will also be hosting some drop in events in areas away from the BT Trucks, to ensure residents can reach support.

The Digital Switchover involves moving from copper landlines to digital telephone systems that use fibre connectivity, replacing the old copper network. This shift will ensure that landline phone services are entirely dependent on broadband and digital technology, termed Digital Voice, rather than the conventional analogue signals transmitted through copper. The reason for the Landline Switchover is because the old network has become fragile and is becoming increasingly more expensive to maintain.

The national retirement of the landline and copper network is expected to be completed by January 2027. However, a few providers are pushing the timeline forward, with more premises becoming digitally equipped each month.

Digital Cheshire and BT understand that this will be a worrying time for residents and there will be lots of questions about how the Landline Switchover will affect their day to day lives.

We are pleased to share that the BT team will be visiting:
