Daryl Williams – 4G Broadband Scheme

Could you tell us a little bit about your broadband performance prior to the installation of a new solution?

We have always struggled with poor broadband performance, we have been at our current address for 16 years and have looked at many possible solutions, most of which were extortionate prices, ugly looking installations and with no promise of  significant increase.

Our previous provider quoted a guarantee of download speeds of between 6 and 7 mpbs but in reality it was often much slower. More and more daily household activities require decent broadband access and what was particularly  concerning was making payments online and broadband cutting out. We never quite knew if a transaction had been completed.

Did you have any doubts over 4G broadband prior to engaging with Digital Cheshire? 

Yes, having spent many hours looking into options including asking for fibre to premises (which was refused) we had begun to believe there were no easy solutions.

Since installing with National Broadband through the Digital Cheshire 4G broadband grant scheme, what difference has it made?

It’s amazing!!! We now have broadband download speed of up to 55 Mbps.

How did you find the installation process when taking out the 4G solution?

The initial team were very helpful however were only able to increase our download speed to 17Mbps. Further intervention by National Broadband in conjunction with Digital Cheshire resulted in a change of antennae location and an improvement to 55 Mbps.

Why is broadband important to you? 

Essential when working from home, using online services and speed to help save time and be reassured when completing transaction.

Would you recommend other residents to explore 4G broadband?

Most definitely and already have done!
