Project Gigabit network update – Cheshire

Cheshire and Warrington are to benefit from further investment into fibre broadband delivery via Building Digital UK’s Project Gigabit.
BDUK have announced: “In February 2026, BDUK agreed a contract change with Openreach to include premises in this area within a new Project Gigabit contract (call‑off eight). Through call‑off eight, BDUK has awarded Openreach £37.5 million to deliver gigabit‑capable broadband to around 18,500 hard‑to‑reach premises across Cheshire.”
Whilst we await further details more information will be published on BDUK’s website.
