Over the past few months, we have been helping residents across Cheshire East, Cheshire West, Warrington and Halton to learn how to turn their favourite printed photos into digital copies which they can keep on their laptop, tablet or phone. No more worrying about your photos of wedding days, graduations or family events fading, ripping or getting lost. Digitising them helps to protect your memories and makes them easier to share with your friends and family.

At the sessions, our friendly team will teach you how to scan your printed photos using our own scanners and save them straight onto your personal devices. Whatever your level of confidence with technology, all are welcome. We will guide you through every step at your own pace. Just bring along the photos you’d like to digitise and while you’re there, feel free to ask us any other digital questions you may have.

These sessions are delivered in collaboration with the Cheshire Archive team, so as well as saving your photos to your own devices, you can choose to share them with the archives. Here they could become part of the Cheshire Image Bank website, a public collection of photographs capturing the county’s history. It’s a lovely way to preserve an image of your family’s past, or a glimpse of how your local area used to look, for others to enjoy. It’s entirely up to you whether you want to share any images at all.
