UK IT Networks are a leading provider of telephony and IT support services, with a core product offering around voice, connectivity, systems, IT services and solutions, supplying to businesses across the globe. We caught up with UK IT Networks Senior Marketing Executive, Amy Helliwell, to find out more about their journey on the Digital Cheshire Programme.

Why did you want to take part in the Digital Cheshire Programme?

At UK IT Networks we have established a new marketing department within the business, therefore we wanted to take part in Digital Cheshire to help us focus and develop an effective marketing strategy which will assist in achieving our business growth objectives whilst supporting the development of the team.

How did the Digital Cheshire Programme benefit your business?

The programme provided specialist speakers, support and guidance, compiled with hands on research around keywords and competitors relevant directly to our business. This helped highlight and prioritise our current business needs when it comes to marketing and business development.

The development of the new UK IT Networks website has been influenced by the programme and support received. As we now understand our audiences each with detailed persona analysis, we will develop a user journey and website content with our audience in mind. This has been crucial to developing our internal understanding of our customers frustrations, issues and motivators.

Since attending the Digital Cheshire Programme have you made any changes?

In addition to the work on developing detailed audience personas and analysing competitor market research, we now use free to access tools to support the marketing team with keyword research and measurement, which we didn’t know about before attending Digital Cheshire. This provides us with meaningful, search engine data which will be crucial to understand relevant keywords we need to target.

We are in the process of launching marketing campaigns which we have applied new learning to in hope to improve the results from the activities taking place across multiple marketing channels.

We have been able to cross-share learnings within the team to ensure our team are confident in delivering on the marketing strategy which is now being developed.

How have you found the support provided by the Digital Cheshire programme?

The support from the Digital Cheshire programme has been fantastic. The programme has directly impacted the business, providing much needed support during the current economic landscape.

The delivery of the masterclasses was at a comfortable pace, whilst working with live examples and scenarios to make it relevant to all the delegates who attended. The masterclass hosts took time to understand our businesses and provide direct advice and guidance relevant to our current situation.


Would you recommend this project to other SMEs across Cheshire and Warrington?

Yes! Digital Cheshire provides businesses with fully funded support which helps businesses to evaluate their marketing, current needs and requirements to drive the business forward. The support was practical, hands on and extremely valuable.

Thanks to business support programmes like this we feel empowered to deliver innovative marketing campaigns and re-design our website with our target audience in mind
